• Drink plenty of water–even if you don’t feel thirsty.
  • Stay inside during the hottest part of the day. If you have to be outside – find shade as much as possible.
  • Plan ahead. Cut down on any unnecessary activity outside during the hottest part of the day.
  • Lightweight, light colored, loose-fitting clothing will help to keep you cooler. Shorts and short sleeved shirts are good choices. However, a lightweight long sleeved shirt and pants are also good if you’re hiking or working outdoors for any length of time.
  • Rock your wide brimmed hat. This will keep the sun off your head and provide instant shade:)!
  • Consider wearing less makeup. Too much makeup can hinder sweating and make you feel warmer.
  • If you have long hair, pull your hair up to allow air around your neck, shoulders, and back.
  • Use a fan. Moving air is cooler air.
  • Don’t eat a large meal as this forces your body to work at processing what you’ve eaten. Instead graze on smaller portions.
  • Soak your feet and legs in cool water. You can also soak your hands and arms to bring your temperature down. If you’re really warm take a cool bath or shower.
