One of the key messages we try to communicate regularly here on Life 101.9 is that of HOPE.  We have hope in Jesus Christ, we have hope in one another and our unity in Christ, and we have hope in prayer.

Just last month, we received this message from a listener: “I am in recovery. I am so grateful for Life 101. 9….you are such a part of my sobriety. God communicates his love, hope & encouragement through these artists …thank you so much!!”   I don’t know about you, but I can’t imagine trying to live without hope.  Hope is what gets us through the hard times.  And being a conduit for God to communicate His love and hope to others is a responsibility we take very seriously.

There are so many things in our lives that can threaten to deplete our hope.  Financial hardships, challenging relationships, poor health, even watching the ups and downs of this year’s election cycle can tempt us to take our eyes off Jesus.  Author Steven Charleston says, “Hope is what your soul sees when your eyes are in darkness.”  That’s why our songs on Life 101.9 are always uplifting and hope-filled.

Hope also helps us to see our essential unity, despite the circumstances that threaten to divide us.  Have you been watching the Olympics?  One of things about the Olympics that I like is the sense of unity it provides for all of us.  The whole country is rooting for these young athletes to do their best and represent us well.  In the same way, I hope that the ministry of Life 101.9 unifies all of us as the body of Christ here in eastern Iowa.  You are not alone; you have thousands of others here in this area who care about you and are praying for you.

If you’re feeling like your reserves of hope are running dry, here are a couple of things you could try.  First, do the Drive thru Difference.  You’ll be amazed at how God will bless you when you step out to help someone else.  Another way to help others is to go to the Prayer Works page at our website (  Pick out a couple of recent requests and pray for them.  Again, as you reach out to help others, God will reach out and encourage you.

Your support of Life 101.9 keeps us on the air as a messenger of God’s hope and love, and we deeply appreciate the many listening friends who donate.  If you’d like to make a contribution, you can do so here:

God bless you, and have a happy and safe summer!

Yours in Christ,
