Did you ever have the feeling that God was trying to get your attention on something, because you keep hearing the same message over and over?
I think God wants me to learn about rest.
In the last month or so we had a message at our church about what the Sabbath (rest) day means to us in 2017, and I’ve heard several teachers talk about the subject of rest on our sister station, Faith Radio.
So, for my benefit and for yours, let’s take a look at what the Bible has to say about rest:
“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken.
Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people. For the person who has entered His rest has rested from his own works, just as God did from His. Let us then make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.
God loves us, and wants what is best for us. More and more, I’m starting to realize that I can’t do it all on my own, and I hope that you will find that too.
Rest in God. Know his plans for you are good. If you’re facing uncertain times, know that ultimately, He is in control.
