I was visiting with a friend about the rapid changes occurring in our culture and how they seem to be occurring at a far more rapid pace than they were just twenty years ago. It’s almost like the proverbial snowball that picks up speed as it rolls down the hill going and growing faster with each revolution.
Cultural change often means pressure to reinvent or re-engineer what is true yet we know that truth by it’s nature doesn’t change. If I think about it too long, it can almost send me into a panic attack.
When my heart starts to beat a little faster and I feel fear coming on, I am reminded of the fact that God does not change and his Word does not change regardless of the spin our culture tries to put on it.
Consider this verse:
“Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever. Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace…” (Hebrews 13:7-9).
If you’re heart is burdened today by rapid change that disregards the truth of the scriptures, know this. God loves you and nothing can separate you from his love. It’s this wonderful hope that we get to proclaim as believers every single day.
Thanks for praying for this ministry and thanks for your ongoing support that allows us bring hope into homes all over Eastern Iowa and around the world on the world wide web.
May your May be colored with joy and peace as you consider God’s unchanging love for you!
