To say we have had a wet fall here is Eastern Iowa would be a massive understatement.  The entire region has seen an amazing amount of precipitation.  On the lighter side, the weather has caused the postponement or cancellation of numerous outdoor events.  Unfortunately, we have also seen issues that are much more serious like flooding and crop damage.

With all of the rain, we have also had a serious lack of sunshine!  Isn’t it amazing how not seeing the sun for several days in a row can affect your mood?  I will admit that I have felt a bit more “down in the dumps” over the last few weeks.  That is, until Saturday morning, when I was out raking leaves…the sun came out again!  It was an amazing feeling!  A bit of sunshine and the prospect of drier days ahead did me a lot of good, and I’m sure it did for you as well.

Here at Life 101.9, we hope to be a ray of sunshine on what may be a “rainy day” in your life.  We all face trials and difficult circumstances that can sometimes feel overwhelming.  In those tough times, hearing a song that reminds you that God loves you and that He is with you can make all the difference!  Amber wrote to us recently to share how God has used Life 101.9 to encourage her through some storms she has been facing:

“I can honestly say I don’t know where my mind and my heart would be if it wasn’t for Life 101.9. A year and a half ago I found out my husband was having multiple affairs…One day in the midst of it all, the song “Broken Things” by Matthew West came on.  I dropped to my knees crying to God to take this pain away, because I couldn’t bear it alone. I don’t remember how long I sat on the floor and prayed, but it was an “a ha” moment for me. I realized that I am never alone.”

Whether the sky looks sunny ahead for you or there are storm clouds on the horizon, it’s our prayer that God uses the music on Life 101.9 to bring you the hope you need.

In Christ,
