This look says it all.
The pie was yummy! On Thanksgiving, we all probably indulged a little too much. But aren’t you glad that you can’t overeat it when it comes to consuming the true meaning of Christmas? It’s like your soul has the capacity to soak in the lights, the sounds, the smells and especially the Truth of the season and you can’t really over do it. When you focus on the very fact that God became a man, it is this thought that changes us.
It is so satisfying! “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in him.” Psalm 34:8.
Like a yummy piece of pie, the goodness of God always goes down good. Nourished by his goodness, we long to give it away. We breathe in his goodness, we exhale a little bit of ourselves. It’s just natural.
Next week is Winter Share at Life 101.9. After reflecting on God’s great love for us, we’ll give to this ministry so that others can experience his love, maybe for the first time.
I hope you will make a donation to Life 101.9 this season but most of all, I hope you will plan on giving away some of your time, talent and/or treasure this Christmas season in any way possible. Here’s a few ideas: You could bake some cookies and give them away. Show kindness when it’s undeserved. Volunteer to ring the kettle bells for the Salvation Army. Listen to someone with your eyes. Someone who routinely takes twelve minutes to tell a two-minute story. Sing in the choir for your church’s Christmas Eve service. You get the idea.
Be creative as you “exhale his love” after you’ve breathed it in. The joy you’ll receive will be more than worth it.
Merry Christmas to you and yours. May your soul be satisfied with the Reason for the Season!
