Is it enough to have food and shelter, or do the deepest needs of our hearts go further than that?


Accepting compassion

We are great givers but when it comes to receiving we struggle. Even when it's just receiving compassion from someone. We have a hard time accepting it.


Comparison and balance

It's easy to over commit to ministry in an attempt to match someone else instead of finding the balance that rest brings to our lives.


Writing out prayers

When I journal, I know that I am acknowledging the action of handing that over to God. Writing out prayers doesn't make them any more real to God but to us.


Letting worry consume us

I recently received some bad news that I had to wait over a weekend to know the outcome.  You can guess what I did.  I spent the entire weekend worried.  All worked up about it.  It consumed my thoughts, stole my joy and took me away from the moment.  I realized that I wasn’t able to focus on anything else.  Just stuck focusing…
