Local families will be able to own their own homes and revitalize neighborhoods

Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for homeownership in an effort to eliminate poverty housing in Black Hawk, Bremer and Butler counties.  Habitat is seeking modest income applicants who have been denied homeownership through traditional means.  Applicants are approved based on three criteria:

1. Need: Applicants must be low income and living in inadequate or cost burdened housing.

2. Ability to pay: Applicants must demonstrate they can afford the reduced cost of a Habitat home through the no interest payments provided by a Habitat mortgage.

3.  Willingness to partner: Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to become a full partner in the program by completing 300 hours of sweat equity building their homes and homes of others.

To qualify for a simple, decent and affordable home through Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, visit www.heartlandhfh.org for an application or call 319-235-9946.
