Nominations are being accepted for Honorary Cancer Survivors and Honorary Caregivers for the 2012 American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Black Hawk County.

Do you know someone who has recently been diagnosed with cancer, currently undergoing treatment or has been a survivor for a number of years?  Consider nominating them as one of our four Honorary Survivors for the 2012 Relay For Life of Black Hawk County.

Or, maybe you’re a cancer survivor who has benefited by the care, love and sacrifice a caregiver has given you during your diagnosis, treatments or in-home care.  The Relay For Life of Black Hawk County is also accepting nominations for Honorary Caregivers, which is new to the event.

Honorary Survivors and Honorary Caregivers will represent all cancer survivors or caregivers in publicity promotions, participate in all Relay For Life Survivor/Caregiver activities, and be a spokesperson for the event which will be held June 15-16 at Hawkeye Community College.

Applications for nomination of Honorary Survivor or Honorary Caregiver are available online at relayforlife.org/blackhawkcountyia or by contacting your local American Cancer Society at 319.272.2880.

Nominees must be Black Hawk County residents.

Submission deadline is February 15, 2012, with selections announced at the Relay Rally on March 1, 2012 at Hawkeye Community College.
