We received an email from an unknown source that I felt was worth passing on this morning.

Before you read it, let me say that I agree with what was written.  Not surprising that the Bible, centered around just one person who also declared himself to be “the Way, the Truth and the Life”, is considered be a totally reliable revelation of God by those who call upon his name.   It doesn’t really matter what Oprah thinks, nor what I think for that matter.  Jesus alone is Lord of all whether I choose to believe it or not.

So Oprah, I’ve got news for you.  The truth isn’t enhanced by your endorsement nor any other human being. At the end of the day, it needs no defender.  Real Truth transcends celebrity endorsement to make it true.

Thanks for whoever send us the email :).  Happy reading everyone.

‘Talk show host Oprah Winfrey has said, ‘God is a feeling experience, not a believing experience.’

Think about that for a moment. Where does truth come from – from inside ourselves or from outside? Feeling puts the focus inside. Believing puts the focus outside. The world bombards us today with all kinds of false philosophy.

Feelings are all over the place. They are unreliable. We can choose whichever assumptions we feel like to base our belief upon. If the Bible is not held up as the standard of truth, then truth becomes defined by the feelings of individuals. Your truth is your truth, my truth is my truth.

That Handbook tells us, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved…’(Acts 16:13). In other words, put your trust in an external and wonderful reality which transcends the feelings of any human being.

Something to think about.

To say your feelings are unreliable is to say God is unreliable. Use your feelings of loving kindness in making all your decisions and actions and you are only doing what God is telling you to do and you truly become a son of God.

Yes, we all have ‘feelings’ but what God say’s is, ” The heart of man is wicked.” The feelings Adam and Eve had in the Garden of Eden led to the sin that band them from the garden. They desired for their “eye’s to be opened, and to be like God, knowing both good and evil.” It looks to me that from the very beginning we have let our feelings get in the way of what God has planed for us. Our job is to step aside and let him work through those of us who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as our savior from our sins. Because to try and do it on our own merit would be futile. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Know one comes to the father except through Him.
