Many people desire peace and happiness in their life. The problem is they expect peace and happiness to come to them without pursuit. In the King James version…Romans 14:19 says “Let us therefore follow the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” The key word is follow…we must pursue peace and happiness in order to have it. So, what does that look like mentally, physically, and spiritually this week?

Mind: When it comes to the mind, peace all starts with pursing God’s truth within His word. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and he dwells within us, but we are so human that often times we forget. 1 Corinthians 2:16 tells us that we have the mind of Christ. Let us be at peace in knowing this truth. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in your thoughts and words this week.

Body: Physically, we must pursue peace by feeding our bodies in a healthy fashion and exercising often. When we feel good..we are more at peace with ourselves and with others. Try this Visibly Fit exercise on for size…
Get on the floor lying on your back with knees bent. Press up into a bridge-like position…pelvis lifted and weight being pressed through your heels. Squeeze your abs, legs, and glutes. Hold for 30 seconds to one minute while deep breathing. Practice this exercise 3-5 times consecutively for best results

Spirit: Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Pursue the fruit of the Spirit this week and peace and happiness will be yours.
