The Butler is a film that follows Cecil Gains as he serves 7 Presidents in the White House and the conflicts he encounters with his son who wants to join in the movement being lead by Martin Luther King Jr.  The character of Cecil Gains is based on the real life person Eugene Allen.

The movies covers some great themes like progess, racial equality, and self-sacrifical love that overcomes family conflicts.  There is some gritty alcohol use, rough language, and some crude jokes, that knock down Bob’s rating a little, but overall, for older teens on up, it gets a 3.5 out of 5 for family friendliness.
