If you live in Eastern Iowa, you may be getting tired of the snow especially if you travel by car for a living. Looks like my plan for the day is about to change…again!

So what do you do when winter weather throws you a curve ball?

Take today for instance. I was going to travel to a few nearby communities to visit with some of our donors this fine Monday morning. I was going to get an early start and cover as much ground as possible.

But that’s not gonna happen now because the one inch dusting of snow predicted has become a six inch blizzard. This picture of my driveway is after I ran the snow blower over it for the fourth time in the last three hours.

Did I say four times? Ouch. As you can see it will need to be cleared again soon.

Winter threw me a curve again today. It wouldn’t be so bad if it were the first time this winter but this is getting kind of old

OK. I’ll admit. The snow is still beautiful and it is giving me many opportunities this year to readjust my plans so that I can make the most of the day the Lord has given.

So what do you do when a snowy day changes your plans? I’d love to hear how you handle a winter curve ball.

Do you have trouble with the curve? I’m just sayin’.

Like Lincoln Brewster reminds us in his song inspired by Psalm 118.

“This is the day YOU have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!”

Something to think about.
