About a week ago I smelled it for the first time this year.  The smell of Fall.  It’s not even close…Autumn is by far my favorite season of the year!  I love the cooler (but not quite winter-like) temperatures and God putting his beauty on display as leaves change color all over Eastern Iowa.

Fall also brings with it fun traditions and things you only do this time of year.  Visits to the corn maze, pumpkin patch and raking fallen leaves into a pile big enough for your kids to jump in are all great parts of the season at our house.  How about you?

I came across an article with some other ideas for Fall activities to enjoy with your family:

– Homemade Applesauce.  After your trip to the apple orchard, put aside some of your haul to enjoy a warm dessert together.  I’m not much of a cook, but they say it just takes a few ingredients.  I’m game!

– Bake Pumpkin Seeds.  If you’re doing some carving this season, don’t just throw throw all of the insides away…there’s a good snack in there!  A little time sorting the good from the bad will be well worth your time when the toasty seeds come out of the oven.  One of my favorite fall snacks!
