You’re feeling tired, worn out and often completely exhausted. What do you need…rest. Great! Who has time for rest? We know its important. We know studies show its healthy. But who has time for rest?
God says “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) What does rest stand for? I came up with an acronym for me to clearly think about rest.
Lets think of rest not as in time but as in thought. Taking a moment to pause our thoughts. To let go of worry, stress and fears.
Look at the complete passage after that verse. After God says “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” He doesn’t stop there. He continues by saying, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Turn to God. Learn how to rest in Him. Rest for your soul. That sounds beautiful. Letting God shoulder the burden you’re feeling. Releasing Every Stressful Thought.
