As I was driving home from work the other day on the snowy and icy roads I was dreading the thought of my driveway being filled with snow yet again.  But as I got closer to my house a memory flashed into my mind of a few years ago.  The memory was of the first time I saw this house, now my house, during an open house and how badly I wanted to own this house.

I’ve lived in this house for 2 years now but there was a point in time I thought it was beyond anything I could ever have.  I spent weeks and months praying for this house, doubting that it would ever be possible.  God had bigger and better plans.  Through months of prayer and a random email to the previous owner, I ended up with this house! I was able to talk the owners down on the price to something I could afford.  This house that I’d prayed for and dreamed about but thought would never happen was now mine.

How often do we take for granted the things we once prayed for?  I’m trying to make it a habit to remember the things I’ve prayed for and remember the blessings I have.

Be thankful for the things you have today that at one point you prayer for.
