Something pretty amazing happened on Sunday…I actually went to church!  Like you, our family has been watching services online at home for the past few months, and I have been so grateful for the technology that has allowed us to continue this important part of our lives.  I have to tell you though, it was wonderful to be in a room full of (socially distanced) people, singing songs of praise to God and opening the Bible together.  We were never designed to do life on our own.  We were made to do life together.

This year has been challenging in many ways.  The Coronavirus pandemic changed what work, school and everyday life meant this spring and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.  Through this time where we haven’t been able to be close to one another, it has been amazing to watch Eastern Iowa come together to care for the sick and vulnerable, and make day-to-day life a little easier for everyone.  We were made to do life together.

As we have watched the difficult news stories over the last few weeks, and now participate in important conversations about how we move forward, I’m again reminded about how important it is that we are in this together.  The problems we face are not easily solved, and each of us need to pray for God’s wisdom to be a part of the solution.  We were made to do life together.

“Together” is also a great way to describe the ministry of Life 101.9.  Since our sign-on in June of 1965 our mission has remained the same – leading people to Christ and nurturing believers in their faith.  From those early days through today, Life 101.9 has remained on the air because of the generosity of friends like you.  As we approach the end of our financial year on June 30th, your help is needed to keep Life 1019 fully funded.  Your financial support allows this radio ministry to bring encouragement to Nancy, who said:

“You all are so calm and full of hope when you talk. You are sharing the confidence to know that God has this; God has us; we’re going to be okay. I know this and I know God is right here with us. We have nothing to fear!”

We know the event of this year have been difficult, and that some friends of Life 101.9 are not able to give at this time.  If you can, your support is needed to help us reach our financial need of 1.6 million dollars.  I’m confident that if those who can give will join us together in ministry, Life 101.9 will remain fully funded.

You can give online or call us to make your gift at 866-515-1019.

We are grateful to walk through these challenging days with you, because we were made to do life together.

In Christ,

Matt Deane
