Jesus promises to be our peace no matter what life brings us. Here is a great example of how this works and how Life 101.9 can be a tool to bring us back to The Rock.
The morning after the election, we received this email from Brenda. She says:
“After all the noise of the election, now that the results are in [almost] and my candidate did not win, my feeling of absolute doom and dread settled in. I was depressed, angry and many other feelings I don’t like. I went for a walk, but that did nothing for clearing my thoughts. Inside my head were all the angry comments playing, lashing out at those I felt did not understand what chaos and destruction they just wrought on the country and how it will affect me personally the next 4 years. I was unsettled and bitter. Then I turned on Life 101.9. Every song you played, every, single one talked directly to me from God. It brought tears to my eyes. I was even able to reach out and soothe the fears others, like me, were feeling. I used Apollo LTD’s “Patient” and Vanessa Campagna’s “Waymaker” to give me the peace I very much need. Thank you for playing God’s message when we so badly need it. Whatever these next few years bring, I know it will be God’s plan for us.”
Quite possibly, you can relate to Brenda. That’s why I love the ministry of Life 101.9. The message of hope is not based on what’s going on in our nation, or even in our community. Sure, uncertainty and the threat of danger are unsettling and even anxiety-producing. But that’s why we’re here. To remind Brenda and others that God is still on his throne and his very great love is real and can be counted on.
We may not know what our future holds, but we do know who holds our future!
Thank you Brenda for your honest testimony. We are so thankful that we can be there for times like these.
This week we’ll be celebrating Jesus, the Rock during Winter Share and we invite you to join us. If you haven’t yet, would you consider your most generous gift to keep this ministry strong and thriving? Thanks to all of you who faithfully support us so we can be there as a reminder of God’s love and faithfulness day after day.
And thanks for praying with us for a successful share this week.
Have a joy-filled December!
