You may have heard brief recitations of Scripture on Life 101.9 that are recorded by young people ranging in age from 4 to 17. These messages that we call “Sowing and Growing” are sponsored by some of our Impact Partners. As Underwriting Director, I have the privilege of overseeing this program handling everything from selling sponsorships to recording the little ones in their home and then sending the raw recordings onto our production department to be dressed up for airplay.
Serendipitious to meeting a financial need for our ministry, God has used this Sowing and Growing promotion in incredible powerful ways. Ways that “surprised me” and make me smile every time I think about them.
I’ve personally seen the Lord use “Sowing and Growing” in at least two distinct ways to build His Kingdom. Ways that make me smile.
- He’s used this promotion to get Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles and Mom or Dad to tune into Life 101.9, some of them for the first time, to hear their little loved ones. And in listening of course, they are made aware of the uplifting music and God’s Love for them. I gotta tell you. I didn’t see this coming but it’s so exciting to consider what more could happen as we extend Sowing and Growing into 2021.
- Another totally separate way that God has used this promotion is by touching the hearts of the kids who are recording the verses. I have now been in the homes of nearly a dozen families doing recording sessions and I have seen His hand at work on SEVERAL occasions but I wanted to share just one story with you.
Click on https://life1019.com/2020/12/everybody-does-bad-things-sometimes/ , read my comments then play the audio of Jane being recorded by me near the bottom of the page. You may want to play the whole thing to get the gist of it. About :24 into the recording, you’ll hear a conversation between Jane, Joy her sister and “Yours Truly.” Her comments demonstrate how God is using the verse she recorded in her life. Get ready to be touched! It is both precious and powerful!!
That’s my Lord surprising me and putting a smile on my face when I need it most. So there you go.
Thanks again for the many ways you have blessed Life 101.9 with your gifts and your friendship in days past. I pray you have a safe and most blessed Christmas filled with His Joy.
